11:48 pm - sfx atomic pink?
woot! so yesterday i got to do my first ever set of dreads on someone else. i'll post pictures soon. i'm really happy with the way that they came out. and I think he is too. i'll post pics i swear.

so question. i've been using sfx hair dye atomic pink for ages now and all of a sudden i cannot find it anywhere. is this a new thing do people know? or is atomic pink just the best color ever and therefore no one is able to keep it in stock? they have 3 bottles of it on amazon but it's literally double the cost. im very annoyed because it's the only hair color i've actually liked.
does anyone else have other recs for long lasting pink dye in that pink/fuschia world? I had been using manic panic and it doesn't cut it for me.

also so it's not text only.

i'll post some more pics soon of my current state and my friends newly aquired dreads. thanks all!

12:07 am
so i just rewatched milk with my mom. and i cried again. i am such a baby when it comes to that movie. oh mylanta. it's the candlelight march then the clip of him laughing at the end. tugs right at my pathetic little heartstrings. and it also just gets me so angry. 20 years ago harvey milk and his constituents managed to avoid the prop 6 that discriminated against gay teachers and other gay jobs and while it passed in other states, it didn't in california. now in california prop 8 had passed and it, to me at least, feels like we're worse off then we were 20 years ago. i don't understand. not at all. also im just jealous that im not involved in such an amazing and powerful and energetic movement. i want that in my life, man i totally do. who knows. id love to do a job like it, but i think it's easier said then done. and i don't think im smart enough.

in other news i am a beading machine for my summer job. im teaching jewelry making and i have done like, 4 new projects in the past 3 days. it's pretty awesome. im nervous bc i don't im always taht good with kids but we'll see. i hope it goes well. i really need a good summer for once. here's crossing fingers.

alright. i just made a playlist of all my falcon ridge music. and there's more i want to put on there. but it is kinda huge.

it's sort of a problem warm out= falcon ridge fever. oh man. i cannot wait. just under 2 months!

11:40 pm - vegan cooking!
i made a vegan pizza the other day it was delish. i made it with whole wheat crust, home made pizza sauce and then tofu with nutritional yeast, it was delish!!! and my omni family even liked it.
tonight/today i made vegan chili which came out really well.i love making chili, it's always an adventure, i have a goal to one day make the best chili in the world some day and so far it hasn't really happened though but i've made some damn good chili along the way.
then for desert i made the vegan cupcakes take over the world sexy vanilla cupcakes with 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 regular flour, i love whole wheat flour. then for the frosting i made the tofu chocolate mousse stuff. it was amazing!!! im making a carrot cake with coconut and walnuts on mothers day and i was going to do a cream chese frosting but i have so much chocolate frosting left over it's what i'm goign ot use for the cake. it'll be delish. maybe i'll do 1/2 and 1/2 we'll see. i'll probs just end up doing the chocolate. it'll still be good.
in other news i miss the gym. i went to planet fitness the other day and it was awesome. i love the gym. starting next week i'll be back to the face. mon-either wed or thurs pm im going to go visit a friend up the road in easthampton and then hopefully friday will be my tattoo. woot!
so that's about it. right now.

so i've decided to start updating this more. I miss livejournal and since the whole veganism switch thing and coming off the road from tour and hopefully cooking/dieting/losing weight in the next month I think it could be fun.

coming off from tour is going to be great. spending less money, eating what I want to eat, sleeping in my own bed. getting to wear whatever I want every day, my pillow! it'll be so nice. i can't wait to get home.

when i'm home i'm goign to get a new tattoo very excited! hopefully i'll have it done in the first week or so. it's going to be a flock of birds in silhoutte flying up my left leg, lke this picture here! woot woot

anyways. i must get ready to depart from philly to dc. very excited. last show and load ou tin philly then off to dc. day off in dc. then home!!! yay!!!

9:03 pm - bday
happy birthday to me. today's my birthday and i should be happy and excited esp. because we managed to find a vegan cafe and i had an amazing vegan burger with soy cheese and vegenaise and it was awesome. and we got vegan cupcakes for everyone else and vegan cheescake for me. which is awesome, and great luck. i also bought myself some new lotion bc i had no more (dr bonners orange lavander oooo) and a local organic toothpaste. and today was a pretty easy/really easy day.
instead i just kinda feel like crap.
i have a pit in my stomach and i'm just kinda lethargic and i feel fat and gross.  i don't know why.

part of it is bc ive been slacking on my job and i know it. the next 2 venues i'm not really sure what we're doing. and i know nj is going to be hard.

ive been keeping on working out and that's been going well, but i don't know. i just went to weigh myself and the scale in this hotel didn't show any change, and actually that i think i've gained weight since i last weighed myself and that just pisses me off. im working so hard. so fucking hard. eating well, now i'm working hard on bringing my calories back up to 1200 a day.

maybe it's just that i miss ppl and i miss school and that i dunno.

oh well. i just got off the phone with some of my fave peeps. and that cheered me up. i can't wait tll this weekend. im goign to nyc and seeing one of my other faves thursday to friday then friday to sat i'm seeing my family. yay! woo hoo.

adult swim is awesome. yeah aqua teen hunger force.

12:25 pm - life
so things are pretty good. my 5 month old mac book pro shat the bed ( well the hard drive) so that's off in repair land. hopefully i will get it soon. unfortunately i didn't back anything up, because well it was a 5 month old mac book pro. shame on me. i should know by now that i only get 6 months out of any hard drive. shame.
anyways i also got myself a new camera a canon sd890 elph. it's wicked cool. i really like it and it has some really cool features, like digital macro. so i can take lots of cool close up pictures just like i like to with a manual. go me.
other than that. i went to see tina and jvl and kirstin last week which rocked. took amtrak to chicago then all the way to nebraska. i felt all travelled and stuff. i had a great time and it was awesome to see people i love and new places. i miss tina already though it's almost cruel seeing her for only 3 days or so. anyways life goes on.
i'm nervous about the election. like. legitimately and it makes me sad. i really really really hope obama wins. deep down i wasnt the green-rainbow lady to win but that's never going to happen so instead i hope for obama. it's crazy.
also i've realized that real world things like insurance and taxes and bills really stress me out. health care especially. i get very upset about it, my lack of it, the problems i've had with with it and what could happen if i get bad insurance. also can i afford it? you get the gist. more or less it stresses me out.
last night i had a dream that i was getting tons of tattoos. like on my hands and my legs and all over. it made me really want a tattoo. and a peircing. i'm probably goign to guage my ears soon. yay. i put up a posting on craigslist looking for earrings to guage my ears. woot. 2 ppl have responded. i'm excited. i didn't want to pay full price for earrings to do it. instead i'm doing it a cool hippy sort of recycling way. makes me feel good.
also i need to get rid of my old computer. anyone want it for 100 bucks?
so that's all i've really got for now. i need to go clean my room that i'm allergic to or my mom might disown me and burn my stuff. hooray!

1:11 pm
so im procrastinating from doing stuff that would be useful for my life. but oh well.

tech for laramie went well. it's one crazy ass show. i have a little over 200 light cues to call, 100 slide show cues for one computer then 50 or so for another. It's a lot of work, and a lot of fun. Calling a show is like painting and conducting all at the same time. it's fun, hard, and definitely an art. I couldn't imagine stage managing a show and not having been in rehearsals. knowing the rhythm of the show is so important. im sad it's only a 4 day run... but those 4 days are going to rock.

other then that, im good. i just ate way too much food and now i feel sort of sick.

i need to clean my room...

things are going well. rhode island (which feels like it was so long ago) was amazing and i wish i could go back. it was exactly what i needed in my life.

i register for classes tomorrow. i'm nervous and i'm still not 100% sure what classes i want to take. i mean it's decisions like do i take ceramics on tuesday or thursday. and whether or not i want to take 1 more class. i might end up taking only 14-16 credits 2 or three of them being fluff classes. amazing. im very excited. i'll let you all know what i'm taking.

alright i should go clean my room....

i'm going to do that and watch firefly while doing so.

1. Go to http://www.careercruising.com/.
2. Put in Username: nycareers, Password: landmark.
3. Take their "Career Matchmaker" questions.
4. Post the top ten results.

supposedly my top ten careers

1) Director of Photography (meh...)
2) Film Editor (big meh)
3) Dancer (i wish and i look food too much)
4) Interpreter (if only i had kept with french this year)
5) Costume Designer (been there, bought the t-shirt, cut it up then hid it in storage)
6)Special Effects Technician (cool!)
7) Artist (haha... could you imagine me an artist... no sense of reality)
8) Lighting Technician (that's what im talking about!!!)
9) Camera Operator (only if it was for a wildlife show or something... meh)
10) Musician. i would totally do that.

others included model, DJ, Photographer, Comedian, Actor Infantry, Pro Athlete, Water Treatment Plant Operator.... hmm...

so yeah... i wish lighting technician was further up on that lust, but all of that stuff (minus film editing) would probably be something i would remotely consider doing.... hmm...

so i'm starting my own little business up to fundraise for my trip to the theatre conference of USITT this spring break. ( to see what it is go to http://usitt.org/)

so i learned silk dying this weekend, and i'm pretty damn good at it, here's what i did

i painted/drew/deisgned the whole thing myself.

now i'm goign to be making this design and many others for purchase.

some smaller sized wall hangings (at about 1' 6" x 1'6" and varying sizes close to that) as well as some scarves. some designs i'm planning on doing right now are:
the trinity knot
peace dove
peace sign
pot leaf (hey i go to school in VT)
hearts (perfect v-day gifts- AND i can customize them for a small fee!)
and some variations on this tree design.

the wall hangings will be 6 and for a customized design i'm charging 10. scarves are going to be 20-25 depending on how big they are.

if you are interested please shoot me an email ironbutterfly213 at hotmail.com

i really need to fundraise for this conference b/c there's no one else that can help me , even though it is academic.
also if anyones interested in dreads, i'll do em for $150

thanks ya'll

so major update.

wallet was not in fact stolen!!! i'm so happy

so what happened is when i cancelled my cards i couldn't remember the last time i had seen my wallet, and had resolved that the last time i saw it was friday and that means that b/c i knew it was in my bag i must have had it stolen. but then later on the phone with my mom i remembered that i had taken it out of my bag at the bar the other night. so when i went over to the bar i saw my wallet lying on the floor of the closed pub!!! yay! i'm so happy!

ok im going off to camden now to buy at least a scarf. my day just got so much better
